Wrexham squad reveal Arthur Okonkwo is the Wrexham owners’ favourite player

Speaking on Sky Sports pre-match coverage of Wrexham v Birmingham, several of the Wrexham squad were asked to rank themselves on a number of categories.

Lewis Brunt was ranked as the most likely to be in a film amongst the squad but the players had a rather surprising answer to the question as to who the owners’ favourite player was.

Unanimously, the Wrexham squad chose goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, who officially joined the club on a free transfer from Arsenal in July 2024.

Okonkwo has made 17 appearances for the Red Dragons this season and has conceded just 13 goals in that time.

England Under-18 international Okonkwo started the season in fine form for Wrexham before missing 11 games with a broken wrist picked up back in November 2024.

Wrexham have a strong defensive record this season and Okonkwo has been a big part of that, offering great communication and a commanding presence behind a solid backline.

In the build-up to the Birmingham match, keeper Okonkwo has been full of praise for another team mate returning from injury. Okonkwo has stated that Jack Marriott looks sharp in training.

Parkinson and the Wrexham fans will be hoping that the two can both be part of a much-needed victory as they welcome the Blues to North Wales.
