Wrexham striker, Ollie Palmer has spoken out on his side’s win over Notts County as he scored to secure the three points.
At the weekend, Wrexham travelled to Meadow Lane for the first time since both teams were promoted.
It was a back-and-forth affair but Phil Parkinson’s side came away with all three points thanks to two late goals.
It had to be Elliot Lee who opened the scoring for the Red Dragons. He keeps up his impressive vein of form.
Just three minutes after the opener, Ollie Palmer doubled the advantage and secured the win.
What has Ollie Palmer said about the Notts County win?
Starting off with a statement just showing the meaning of the result: “It’s a huge win.”
Against a side that has had one of the best starts to a League Two season, this was no easy game.
Speaking with Leader Live, that was clear to Palmer: “I think it was a great spectacle and a very proud performance. Notts County are such a good team but fortunately for us, so are we.”
Showing the importance of a good squad, Sam Dalby started the game alongside Paul Mullin.
With Palmer coming off the bench he wanted to make an impact: “Of course, you want to start every game.
“The gaffer felt that he wanted to change it up a little bit and the boys were excellent.”
He was clearly delighted to get on the scoresheet and secure three points: “To get a goal is great but more importantly, to get the three points is massive.”
A top win especially given the opposition and doing it away from The Racecourse.
Palmer was on target to secure his fourth goal of the season and he may hope for a more consistent spell in front of goal.
