Wrexham made wholesale changes to their attack this summer, but one transfer target they didn’t land is now outscoring Kieffer Moore.

During the 2025 summer transfer window, Wrexham opted to strengthen their frontline heavily.

Kieffer Moore, Ryan Hardie, Josh Windass and Nathan Broadhead all arrived at the Racecourse Ground.

So far, it is clear that Moore has been the standout signing for the Dragons in the Championship.

After netting in the 3-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers over the weekend, he now has four goals and one assist in five Championship matches.

But one summer target is outscoring the ex-Sheffield United man this term after Wrexham decided not to make a move.

Wrexham target Davis Keillor-Dunn outscoring Kieffer Moore and Paul Mullin

During the summer, it was reported by journalist Nathan Salt that Wrexham enquired about Davis Keillor-Dunn.

The Barnsley striker was said to be available for somewhere around the £2.5m mark, as Salt explained.

He said: “Davis Keillor-Dunn. My understanding there is no club has submitted an official offer for Keillor-Dunn yet to Barnsley. But a fee in the region of £2.5-£3m, that is the price point where you will get a deal over the line.

“I’m told that Parkinson has made an enquiry; he knows the price, and now it’s a waiting game.”

A transfer did not come to pass, however, and the attacker remained at Barnsley, where he has so far thrived this season.

In total, Keillor-Dunn has now found the back of the net five times in League One this season.

The 27-year-old is competing against Wrexham loanee Paul Mullin in the third tier following his move to Wigan Athletic.

Mullin has so far found the back of the net twice in eight league matches, scoring three in all competitions.

Wrexham may need another striker

Had Keillor-Dunn signed, he likely would have taken up a role just behind Moore, which has been filled by Windass and Broadhead for the most part this term.

But even with his addition, Parkinson would still probably have needed to sign another forward.

After Ollie Palmer’s exit last month, the Wrexham manager has been left without any natural cover for Moore.

The ex-Blade is so important to Parkinson’s system, but at present, he is the only ‘big man’ at the club.

Should he suffer an injury or get suspended, it may hamper the Dragons’ ability to score and create chances.
