Wrexham are returning from Australia and New Zealand, but already have another overseas friendly lined up ahead of the Championship season.
Wrexham’s pre-season tour Down Under has come to an end, and Phil Parkinson may have mixed views on the trip.
A win over Melbourne Victory kicked off the tour, but Wrexham were then beaten by Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix.
Results aren’t too important in pre-season games, and Parkinson will just be pleased to have minutes in the legs.
The Championship season is looming, and Wrexham kick off against Southampton in less than three weeks.
Parkinson will be looking for another couple of friendlies ahead of that game, and one has now been confirmed.

Wrexham’s FC Groningen friendly confirmed
Dutch side FC Groningen have confirmed that they will play a pre-season friendly against Wrexham on August 2.
Groningen play at Euroborg, a 22,525 all-seater stadium, which recently hosted a World Cup qualifier between the Netherlands and Malta.
However, the game against Wrexham will not take place at Euroborg and will instead be held at De Langeleegte in Veendam.
This was the home of SC Veendam, but they folded in October 2024, and Groningen will host the Wrexham friendly there.
The stadium is based just south of Groningen, and Groningen have sent a message to Ryan Reynolds, asking whether he will be in attendance next month.
That seems unlikely, especially as Wrexham supporters have now been told not to make the trip to the Netherlands, as the fixture will not be open to travelling fans.
Who are FC Groningen?
We can’t really talk about Wrexham and Groningen without highlighting the ‘Groningen Reds’, as captured by social media favourite ‘Bootlegger’ in 2024.
For any Wrexham fans who are a little less familiar with Groningen, they have been a relative fixture of Dutch football’s top flight for a long time.
2023 saw Groningen drop out of the Eredivisie, but they spent just one season in the second tier as immediate promotion was secured.
Groningen stayed up last season, securing a 13th-place finish in the process.
Some huge names have played for Groningen in the past, including Arjen Robben, Virgil van Dijk and Luis Suarez, as well as brother Erwin and Ronald Koeman.
Now set to take on Wrexham, Groningen are gearing up for their Eredivisie opener against AZ Alkmaar on August 10.
