Wrexham are set to return to action this weekend when they face Stoke City in the Championship after the international break.

The Red Dragons faithful will likely be excited for this clash after a hiatus of two weeks without club football and due to the current unbeaten run of four Championship games that the Welsh club are currently on.

Stoke are set to be without Bae Jun-ho due to injury, which could limit their creativity and threat in attack. However, the Potters will believe they have enough ability in this area with Sorba Thomas, the Championship’s most creative player, a concern for Wrexham.

Despite this and Wrexham’s terrible record against Stoke, there is room for optimism through the latest decision by the EFL, one that could help the Welsh club.

Wrexham have never lost a match with Thomas Bramall as referee

The EFL have published their announcement for who will be refereeing and officiating each match across the three divisions this weekend.

Phil Parkinson may be that bit happier going into the Stoke City clash this weekend after seeing Wrexham’s record when Thomas Bramall has been in charge as referee, according to Transfermarkt.

The referee has taken charge of four Wrexham fixtures, with the Welsh club never losing when Bramall has been the man in the middle with the whistle.

Wrexham have won two of those four matches while drawing the other two; however, this incredible record could be ended should Stoke look to spoil the unbeaten run of the Red Dragons in the Championship.

Stoke City’s record with Thomas Bramall as referee

The Potters have not had Bramall take charge of as many of their games since he started officiating in the EFL.

The referee has only ever taken charge of two Stoke City matches, with the club losing one of those fixtures; however, they did win the other.

While there is no correlation between who is refereeing the match and how the result will go, it can be a nice feeling for some fans knowing that there may be a slight advantage for their side even if there is no actual indication that this is the case.
