Wrexham will be looking to build upon their first signing of a busy summer transfer window.

Ryan Hardie completed a move to Wrexham to become Phil Parkinson’s first acquisition as he prepares for the challenge of the Championship.

Wrexham are now looking to bolster options in their midfield and Tom Cairney was offered a contract but looks set to stay in the Premier League with Fulham.

Lewis Travis has attracted interest from Wrexham, however, the Red Dragons would be wise to make a move for another midfielder who his current manager believes is destined to play in the top flight.

Wrexham should sign Ethan Galbraith instead of Lewis Travis

Parkinson is looking to add legs into his midfield alongside the likes of current options Ollie Rathbone and Matty James.

According to reports, interest has cooled in Blackburn’s captain Travis, and the Red Dragons should now move swiftly to sign Ethan Galbraith from Leyton Orient.

Galbraith was outstanding for Leyton Orient last season in their run to the League One play-off final and can play in multiple positions with central midfield where he is at his scintillating best.

His manager Richie Wellens hailed the 24-year-old as ‘unbelievable’ earlier this season and claims the midfielder has an abundance of attributes as per the Newham Recorder.

Wellens stated: “I’m not trying to sell him here but he’s unbelievable. He is an unbelievable talent – energy, sharpness, touch, control, skill.”

Charlton have seen a £1.5m bid rejected for Galbraith and with interest high, now is the time for Wrexham to swoop and bring him to the Racecourse Ground.

What Ethan Galbraith would bring to Wrexham

As per the Standard, Orient boss Wellens believes that Galbraith is destined to play in the Premier League one day and with his range of passing and athleticism is hard to disagree.

Wrexham will need to improve their midfield options this summer, George Dobson could be replaced having had no experience at Championship level.

Galbraith would add creativity to Parkinson’s midfield and has the ability to play at right wing-back – versatility will be a key attribute in such a bruising and competitive division.

It is though that it would take an offer of around £2m to tempt Orient into selling one of their prized assets but it would be money well spent for the Red Dragons.
