Wrexham were always going to be busy in the transfer market this summer.
Phil Parkinson is preparing to lead his Wrexham side into the Championship for the first time since 1982 and has already released big names such as Steven Fletcher and Mark Howard from his squad.
Wrexham have offered contracts to Premier League defenders Craig Dawson and Aaron Cresswell as they look to bolster their defensive options with more experienced quality.
Wrexham are interested in Lewis Travis and should the Blackburn captain arrive at the Racecourse Ground, it would give the manager a real dilemma over the future of a player he thinks is ‘brilliant’.

Lewis Travis Wrexham transfer spells bad news for George Dobson
Former managers have praised Travis and the tenacious midfielder would be an excellent addition to the heart of the Red Dragons midfield.
However, with his arrival, Parkinson would then have a dilemma over the future of George Dobson, given the similarities with the two players.
Parkinson called Dobson ‘brilliant’ this season and the 27-year-old played through injury at times for the cause in gaining promotion from League One.
Dobson has never played a game in the second tier and the club now have the dilemma over whether to keep the midfielder or cash in as a host of League One clubs would be queuing for his signature.
George Dobson has the quality to be a Championship player
Dobson was an excellent signing last summer from Charlton Athletic and alongside Matty James and Ollie Rathbone, he became a real driving force in Parkinson’s side during the promotion run-in.
The Wrexham squad is going to be stretched next season in what promises to be a gruelling campaign with the step up in quality of opposition.
| George Dobson’s Wrexham record | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Dobson | 48 | 2 | 5 |
Dobson is exactly the sort of player that you need around the dressing room and his robustness and energy will only serve to be a positive factor for Parkinson next season.
He may not start every week depending on the additions that come through the door but Dobson will be a brilliant option to have in the squad and will not look out of his depth when given the chance.
