Wrexham could not have wished for a better afternoon in League One as they moved six points clear of Wycombe in the race for promotion.
Steven Fletcher and Sam Smith were among the goal scorers in Wrexham’s 3-0 win over Burton Albion, which gives the Red Dragons a real cushion in the League One table.
Wycombe’s defeat at Reading means they now trail by six points but play their game in hand against Huddersfield.
Rob McElhenney shared his Burton verdict by stating his joy at getting up to watch the Wrexham victory and one player in particular enjoyed a fine performance from start to finish of the match.

Ryan Longman stars in Wrexham win over Burton
Ryan Longman was at the heart of everything good that Wrexham did today and had the beating of his full back from start to finish.
It could have turned into a frustrating afternoon for the Red Dragons as Burton battled for long periods of the game with ten men but Longman did not stop delivering inviting crosses into the box.

Longman’s stand out moment came in the second half when he produced a stunning reverse pass down the side of the Burton defence to set Smith on his way to bag Wrexham’s second of the match.
The goal clinched the victory for Wrexham and Longman was an integral part of the three points, showing his versatility by playing both left and right wing-back during the game.
Longman proving he can step up into the Championship with Wrexham
Having signed from Hull City to help Wrexham gain promotion, Phil Parkinson will be even more convinced following recent displays that Longman can play a big part for his side should they achieve promotion.
The wing-back role seems to suit the 24-year-old and having played 116 games in the Championship already, he will no doubt be one the current squad to keep his place next season.
The promotion party is by no means being organised just yet in North Wales with five huge clashes remaining and a lot of twists and turns.
However, Championship football next season is now firmly in Wrexham’s hands and the squad will be doing everything to seize the wonderful opportunity they have at making history.
