Possible Wrexham captain candidates
Paul Mullin
Since joining the club Paul Mullin has been a sensation scoring 105 goals in 133 appearances. His drive and personality epitomise what Parkinson wants from his players.
The former Cambridge United star has found a home at the Racecourse with a huge connection with the fanbase. Mullin has made a vital contribution to the back-to-back promotions to League One. With his quality and experience, he will certainly be a name the manager looks at when appointing a captain.
James McClean
James McClean’s summer arrival last summer raised eyebrows. The high-profile Republic of Ireland international became an integral part of the squad last campaign.
The former Sunderland man has a wealth of experience and a strong personality to be vocal on the pitch.
With the wing-back having played at a higher level including internationals, he will have earned respect from his teammates. His hard work ethic and fiery profile could make him an option for the captain’s armband in the coming season.

Elliot Lee
Since joining the club in 2022, Elliot Lee has become a star player at the Racecourse with the former West Ham United man scoring 31 goals in 86 games for the Red Dragons.
The 29-year-old has become a reliable player for Parkinson, with the midfielder one of the first names to be on the teamsheet.
Lee’s creative ability combined with his work ethic sets an example for the rest of the squad. His determination and skill could make him a viable option for Parkinson next season.
George Evans
George Evans has recently signed a new contract at the Racecourse extending his stay in North Wales. The former Derby County midfield impressed during his debut season, having joined from Millwall in 2023.
The 29-year-old added quality and composure in midfield. His experience of playing at a higher level and professionalism in the team could make him an outsider for the former Sunderland boss to consider for the captaincy.
