Phil Parkinson must make changes to his Wrexham team if they are to win automatic promotion this season.
Wrexham were not expected to be in the running for a top-two finish when the League One campaign got underway.
However, after such a promising first half of the season, second place remains within reach, while Birmingham City are already all but guaranteed to go up as champions.
Wycombe Wanderers currently occupy second place in the division and were given a big boost in midweek when Wrexham lost to Leyton Orient.
The Red Dragons have now fallen five points adrift of Wycombe and are even in danger of slipping down to fourth, though Stockport County have played a game more.
Wrexham fans were left angry at Phil Parkinson during Tuesday’s defeat and though automatic promotion now looks unlikely, it’s still possible.

His tactic of hoofing the ball long and hoping for the best really backfired against a Leyton Orient side that looked much sharper and defended well.
And while creating chances is still a problem for Wrexham, their woes in midfield do need to be addressed if they want to turn results around and make a push for second place.
Ollie Rathbone continues to excel but he’s not the problem, with it now evident that Matty James and George Dobson simply don’t work together as part of the same trio.
Dobson, Elliot Lee, and Andy Cannon formed an excellent partnership in the first few months of the season but James’ arrival and form disrupted that.
The latter played decent against Leyton Orient but Dobson was woeful and should now be dropped.

George Dobson stats for Wrexham vs Leyton Orient
Dobson has previously shone for the Welsh outfit but it’s obvious he can’t play alongside James.
The former Manchester United man has been in better form of late so he should be kept in the midfield, while Andy Cannon probably needs to come back in for Dobson.

Lee’s return could also give Wrexham a boost, but how Parkinson fits in him, James, Rathbone or Cannon remains to be seen.
