Wrexham’s transfer window is yet to spark into life like fans and pundits would have expected.
Phil Parkinson’s side looked lethargic in their pre-season friendly defeat to Sydney FC and have so far completed just two signings in Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward.
Wrexham fans have demanded signings following the defeat but the club are working hard on a number of deals behind the scenes.
The Red Dragons have been met with frustration over a number of targets so far and are failing in their attempts to repeat a tried and tested winning formula in the market.

Wrexham struggling to attract Premier League players
Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over at the Racecourse Ground, recruitment has been excellent and is a major factor in the club’s success.
Parkinson knows exactly the type of players that he wants in his squad and fit into his rigid system that has brought unbelievable results during his tenure.
However, Wrexham are now struggling to continue that recruitment pattern of luring players from higher divisions into their squad.
The likes of Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer were lured back in the National League and last season Jay Rodriguez and Ryan Longman were brought down from Championship sides.
This summer it is Premier League players that the club are looking at and are finding it hard to get their deals over the line.
If the club continue to fail in their Premier League transfer targets, they may have to change tactic and look to secure loan deals or even explore foreign markets.
The result and performance against Sydney made it clear that Parkinson needs fresh faces for the upcoming campaign in the second tier.
Premier League targets Wrexham could still sign
Wrexham have agreed a fee for Lewis O’Brien at Nottingham Forest but have hit a stumbling block over persuading the player that this is the right move for him in his career.
There has yet to be a decision made from Craig Dawson after the Red Dragons offered him a contract upon his release from Wolves.

Parkinson is also very keen on a loan move for Liverpool defender Owen Beck after his successful spell at Blackburn Rovers last season.
Should the club’s fortunes change and those three players walk through the door, all of a sudden the outlook switches round to a more positive one.
Patience may have to be the game Wrexham play this summer, but they cannot wait around too long and end up with panic buys at the end of the window.
