Supporters will be anticipating transfer rumours galore as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney dip into their deep pockets.
The Hollywood owners have already been linked with luring Notts County goal machine Macaulay Langstaff to the club.
A scenario where the 27-year-old joins the club would ultimately demonstrate Reynolds’ ambition of doing whatever it takes to win promotion this season.
Most clubs would be happy to consolidate after reaching the third tier and executive director Humphrey Ker agrees with that notion, but Wrexham feel they can achieve a third consecutive promotion and signing one ex-player could help them in that regard.
Wrexham should plot a move for ex-player Louis Moult
Supporters rarely fall in love with one player after just a season, but Wrexham’s affiliation with Louis Moult falls into that category.
The Reds captured the striker from non-league side Nuneaton Town in the summer of 2014. Moult would only spend one season at the Racecourse Ground however, his impact in Wales was incredible.
Although they finished in mid-table, the deadly finisher scored 15 goals in 39 appearances for the club.
Sadly, Moult only spent one campaign at Wrexham before being snapped up by Scottish Premiership side Motherwell.
Ever since he moved on, supporters have been clamouring for him to return to Wrexham and now they’ve won promotion to League One, launching an ambitious move for the striker could be on the cards.
Louis Moult’s career in numbers
Moult has turned out at Preston and Burton Albion in England, but the 32-year-old only scored nine goals in a combined 55 appearances for those two clubs.
Meanwhile, during spells at Motherwell and Dundee United in Scotland, the striker has netted 71 goals in 144 appearances, 20 of which have come in 39 appearances for Dundee in the Scottish Championship this season.
On the evidence he scored just once in 15 League One matches for Burton in 22/23, it seems like a risk for Wrexham to lure him away from Scotland, although it’s a transfer everyone would want to see.
He’s adored by Wrexham supporters and perhaps forming a deadly partnership with Paul Mullin and working under a manager like Phil Parkinson would get the best out of him.
McElhenney and Reynolds should give the fans what they want by luring Moult back to a club where he initially made a name for himself.
