It’s back to Championship duty for Wrexham this weekend after their Carabao Cup success in midweek, and we’ve come up with three big predictions for the clash with West Brom.
Wrexham may have had their hearts broken by a late comeback from Southampton last weekend, spoiling their return to the second tier, but the win over Hull City on Tuesday helped heal that wound.
Now, Phil Parkinson is preparing for the first home league game at the Racecourse Ground this season, with West Brom the visitors to North East Wales.
You can watch Wrexham vs West Brom on live TV this weekend, and for those catching the action, here’s what we think you’ll end up seeing.

Predictions for Wrexham vs West Brom game
Ollie Palmer will be an unused substitute
Wrexham fans were delighted with Ollie Palmer this week, as the legendary striker came off the bench to turn the game against Hull on its head.
His late double levelled the scores, dragging the Red Dragons back from a 3-1 deficit to eventually win on penalties, and there’s now hope he might stick around rather than being sold this summer.
However, for anyone expecting Palmer to miraculously get a place in the starting XI, we fear you’ll be sorely disappointed. In fact, we can see Parkinson leaving the big man on the bench for the whole game, which is almost more cruel than excluding him from the matchday squad entirely.
Josh Windass will score again
It was one of Wrexham’s summer signings who bagged the first goal of the Championship campaign last weekend, with Josh Windass confidently stepping up from the spot to put them in front against Southampton.
He’s clearly enjoying being the main man at Wrexham, as evidenced by him taking the number 10 shirt from Paul Mullin.
Wrexham are tipped to surprise West Brom this weekend, and if and when they do score, we would be very surprised if Windass isn’t involved in some way. Chances are he will add to his tally against the Baggies.

We’ll see another late goal at the Racecourse Ground
Putting together a predicted lineup for Wrexham vs West Brom isn’t easy, with Parkinson having plenty of options at his disposal now. But one thing that’s very safe to assume is that we’ll see more late drama at the Racecourse.
Scoring late goals is Wrexham’s secret weapon, and we’ve already seen plenty of them this season. While the late goals at St. Mary’s went against the Red Dragons, they benefited from a couple on Tuesday night.
One way or another, we’d say it’s worth staying in your seat right until the final whistle this weekend. Hopefully, the late twists work in Wrexham’s favour once more.
