Wrexham star Ryan Longman will be looking forward to the clash against former side Hull City. He has every reason to seek revenge against the Tigers.
Wrexham’s Championship fixtures have been released, where they will travel to Southampton for the season opener.
It will be a challenge for Phil Parkinson’s side, coming up against a recently-relegated Premier League side, but one that finished on just 12 points and will be keen to put that behind them with a win against Wrexham.
The schedule at the start of the season will be non-stop, as only three days later, Wrexham will host Hull City in the League Cup.
Hosting the Tigers will be a big opportunity to build momentum from the start of the campaign, but Wrexham star Ryan Longman will be viewing the game differently; he will be going in for revenge.

Wrexham clash with Hull City could spark revenge for Ryan Longman
The first clash at the Racecourse Ground of the 2025/26 season will come in the cup, and former Hull City player Ryan Longman will, in particular, be looking forward to the clash against the Tigers.
Longman said that his wish was to face Hull City on the opening day of the Championship, and whilst he didn’t quite get his wish, he will still meet with his former side just three days later.
Facing off against Hull will mean much more to Longman, coming up against the side he previously struggled at, which led to him getting his share of criticism from the fans.
Longman spoke about the criticism, which sometimes led to abuse, back in 2022 when speaking to Hull Live.
“It’s a tough one to answer,” said Longman back when he played for Hull City. “I know how frustrating it is as a player and as supporters, they come and watch us against Huddersfield and want to see us win, it’s not like we go out there (to lose). All I can say to them is that when I’m out there and watch me play is that they see me putting the maximum effort in.
“It’s a funny game, football. Everyone’s got an opinion, everyone has an opinion and that’s just life. As a player, you’re not going to make everyone happy. You’ve got to take the positives from the game. I was upset I missed that chance but it was positive I got into that position, and I need to keep getting into those positions.
“Hopefully the next one I’m going to score and if I miss the next one I’m still going to go and do it again.”

Phil Parkinson will ignite the fire in Ryan Longman against Hull City
There are not many managers who have mastered mentality as much as Phil Parkinson has – if we are being honest, it is the key reason why his side have managed to notch three successive promotions.
As a result, Parkinson will certainly turn to Longman to make the difference in the cup against Hull and hopefully set Wrexham on a run in the competition.
Turning that previous frustration for Longman into a reason to hand his former side revenge could be enough for the winger to put on a brilliant performance, and that is something that Parkinson will certainly remind him of ahead of the game at the Racecourse Ground.
