Wrexham are ready for the next step in their wonderful journey as they welcome Championship football to North Wales for the first time in 43 years.
Phil Parkinson has a number of injury concerns ahead of the clash with West Brom, but will be confident that his side can produce a result in front of what will be a red-hot atmosphere at the Racecourse Ground.
Ryan Hardie could be set for his first league start up top given that Kieffer Moore sustained ankle ligament damage against Southampton.
The game will be a far cry from Parkinson’s first home league fixture in the National League – a 1-1 draw with rivals Notts County. Rob McElhenney will be hoping for another momentous day involving his beloved club.

Rob McElhenney described Wrexham victory over Notts County in 2023 as ‘one of the greatest’ moments of his life
Speaking on season two episode twelve of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series, McElhenney hailed the club’s 3-2 victory over Notts County to all but seal promotion back to the football league.
Leading 3-2 going into stoppage time, Ben Foster produced a last minute penalty save to preserve the Red Dragons’ lead and gain three vital points.
McElhenney, upon reflecting on the game, stated: “One of the greatest moments of my entire life.”
Co-owner Ryan Reynolds echoed that sentiment, he explained: “I simply characterise it the exact same way, aside from my family which I’m required to say, that was the greatest moment of my entire life.”
Wrexham fell behind in the game thanks to a wonderful free kick from John Bostock, before Paul Mullin levelled just after the break.
Jacob Mendy then put the Red Dragons 2-1 up before the visitors equalised to make it 2-2. Elliot Lee produced the winning goal with a moment of magic before Foster’s dramatic late save.
What Phil Parkinson said about Wrexham’s victory over Notts County
Speaking to BBC Sport after that historic win in 2023, Parkinson couldn’t hide his delight and pride at his team’s performance and the result.
Parkinson stated: “I’ve been in this situation before and I’m absolutely ecstatic with the performance, because we turned up when it mattered most which is great, it was a terrific game of football.

“But we – if we do get over the line – we will see us celebrate and you will see us getting carried away. But today is not the day for that. It’s a good solid performance, a great game, two good teams, credit for Notts as well.”
The Wrexham boss will be hoping for a similar result and performance against West Brom in order to get their first points on the board of the new Championship campaign.
