Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have brought incredible success to Wrexham since they bought the club in 2021, both on and off the pitch.
The pair appointed Phil Parkinson as manager, and since then they have achieved a historic and unprecedented three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship.
The pair of owners have demonstrated that they are willing to spare no expense at bringing success to the club, as Wrexham spent £33 million on signings this summer transfer window.

However, it is not only in football matters that they are willing to spend to bring glamour and success; they once went the extra mile to get a star of the Celebrity Traitors to appear on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac were desperate for Charlotte Church to sing on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’
Charlotte Church is currently one of the stars participating in Celebrity Traitors, and it would be interesting to know if the BBC went to the same lengths as Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac did to get her on ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.
The Welsh singer featured in the docuseries’ first season with several celebrities appearing in the show, before and since, with Church delivering performances of ‘Men of Harlech’ and the Welsh national anthem ‘Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau’, to conclude the show.
She has previously explained on the Dish podcast how she got involved in the docuseries, as she said: “He [Reynolds] flew me and my kids out to New York because they were doing the show about Wrexham, and I went, and I sang the national anthem, Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau.
“The kids were like, ‘It’s Ryan Reynolds; we have to go.’ So I was like, ‘I’m a working mum; unfortunately, you’re going to have to bring all three of my children out,’ and they were like, ‘Yeah, sure, fine.’
“They got to meet him and Rob McElhenney, and they were delicious. They were so kind, and they’re so lovely. I think what they’re doing for Wales – in terms of Wrexham and stuff – it’s really genuine.”
The impact of Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac on Wrexham
The pair have had a seismic impact on both Wrexham and Wales, with Church believing their genuine interest has helped reshape the narrative around the country.
Since the investment of Reynolds and Mac in Wrexham, it has been discovered that in Wales tourism has increased around 20%, with some of this being due to the docuseries and people wishing to attend football matches at the Racecourse Ground.
At the time of the release of this information, Wrexham County Borough Council’s tourism spokesman Joe Bickerton told North Wales Live all about the rise in tourism in the area.
Bickerton noted that tourism has exploded to around £180 million a year, with ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ playing a huge role.
Bickerton added that tourism has increased around 20% a year in Wrexham since McElhenney and Reynolds’ takeover, highlighting their incredible impact.
He said: “We are still waiting for the 2024 figures, but tourism has increased to £180m a year in Wrexham.
“In the three years, tourism in Wrexham has gone up by 20 per cent a year in Wrexham, and a large part of that is due to the documentary. There are ads about Wrexham on American billboards.”
