Wales play England in an international friendly on Thursday night, with Wrexham’s Kieffer Moore set to feature for Craig Bellamy’s side.

Kieffer Moore has enjoyed a strong start to the 2025/26 season for club and country, following his move from Sheffield United to Wrexham in the summer.

Wrexham paid a reported £2million to sign Moore who’s since scored four goals in nine Championship games for Phil Parkinson’s side, and six for club and country in all competitions this season.

Moore earned his 50th cap for Wales last month and he looks set to led the line against England on Thursday night.

One player set to miss out though is Harry Kane. It’s been reported that the Bayern Munich frontman is injured for this one.

Wrexham’s Kieffer Moore was once compared to Harry Kane

Kane is arguably the best striker in the world right now. The 32-year-old has 11 goals in just six Bundesliga appearances so far this season, with 17 goals in all competitions already. On top of that, he’s England’s all-time leading scorer with 74 goals.

But back in 2020 when Moore was at Cardiff City, then manager Neil Harris once compared the Welshman to Kane. Harris told BBC Sport: “He is making life very difficult for the opponents. If you play with two strikers, then it’s all about them, they set the tone for the team.

“Spurs are very good at the moment because of Harry Kane, no disrespect to Jose Mourinho he is a legend, and there are very good players around him, but Kane sets the tempo. Kieffer Moore and Gareth Bale do that for Wales.”

What happened the last time Kieffer Moore played vs Harry Kane?

Moore and Kane have met before, in a 2022 World Cup match between Wales and England. It was a group stage match which England won 3-0 thanks to a Marcus Rashford brace, and one from Phil Foden.

Moore lead the line for Wales that day whilst Kane did so for England. Wales finished bottom of their group in that tournament, notably losing to Iran in the group stage.

They did score one goal and take a point from the USA, though, with Gareth Bale scoring from the spot in that one.

With no Kane tonight, it could be a chance for Moore to show just how good a striker he is, against an England side that haven’t looked all that promising under Thomas Tuchel so far.

Wrexham return to action against Stoke City later in the month.
