Wrexham transfer target, Stephen Humphrys has responded to transfer rumours on social media suggesting a move was close to completion.
It has been a very quiet transfer window for Wrexham which has seen them make just one signing so far this month.
The only signing that Phil Parkinson and Co. have made is the permanent move for loanee, Luke McNicholas.
There have been plenty of links suggesting that the Reds are looking to be active in the January window. This has seen recent rumours of Aaron Collins, as well as Jack Marriott, potentially set to join the club this month.
It is clear from the rumours that a new striker option is now wanted by the hierarchy to add competition for the forward line.
Now there has been a direct response from a linked player who has taken to social media to express his feelings on rumours.

Stephen Humphrys responds to transfer news
There has been no shortage of strikers linked to signing for Wrexham this winter window. Stephen Humphrys has certainly been one of those options.
A deal looked as if it may be likely due to him being in the final six months of his contract at Wigan and so he could be lured away.
So far this season he has scored seven and assisted three in League One, according to FotMob. Moving down a division to League Two, if he can replicate that form, he will be a superb signing.
A report this week on social media suggested that a move to Wycombe Wanderers may be just around the corner.
They said: “Wycombe Wanderers look set to announce the signing of Wigan Athletic attacker Stephen Humphrys for around £325k. The contract will be two and a half years with the transfer fee paid across this term. Humphrys has scored 11 goals in all competitions for the Latics this season.”
There had been plenty of links to Wrexham but given his contract situation, there is plenty of other clubs interested. As a result, a bid coming in from a League One outfit won’t come as a surprise.
With that being said, Humphrys himself has now responded to this report and said exactly what he thinks of the rumour.
On that, he said: “Suggest everyone unfollow this account. Just invents rumours, for what reason? I don’t know.”
This will be music to Reds fans’ ears as it suggests that a move to The Racecourse is still possible. He also seems to be very outspoken on social media which may make him a good fit for the club. This is a potentially exciting move and looks as if it could still happen this month.
