Wrexham have added five new signings to Phil Parkinson’s squad this summer but may still be in the market for more additions.

Wrexham had to strengthen after promotion from League Two and Phil Parkinson will be pleased with the business done so far.

Two goalkeepers have arrived as Arthur Okonkwo made a ‘brilliant’ move to join Wrexham on a permanent basis before Callum Burton arrived on a free transfer.

Wrexham have added two defensive options with Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan reuniting after their time together at Aston Villa.

Parkinson also added a new midfielder having snapped up George Dobson on a free transfer.

There is a blend of League One experience and talents for the future there, but there may be more business for Wrexham to complete.

Wrexham target wanted by Derby County

August is here and that means we are into the final months of the summer transfer window.

Those five signings will really help Wrexham but more will be needed in the coming weeks.

Parkinson may look for a versatile player like Ryan Longman – a player who can feature in multiple positions.

Reports in July highlighted that Wrexham are interested in signing Hull City ace Longman.

Those reports suggested that Birmingham City were battling Wrexham in the race to sign former Brighton and Hove Albion talent Longman.

We have already seen Birmingham sign Wrexham target Marc Leonard and another transfer battle could be on the cards.

The Hull Daily Mail now claim that two Championship sides – Millwall and Derby County – want to sign Longman.

Longman spent time on loan at Millwall last season and a permanent deal may well appeal.

Derby offer a major threat though with Paul Warne looking to re-establish the Rams as a Championship side.

Longman versatility could be ideal for Wrexham

Wrexham have already shown a willingness to push the boat out for new signings.

Peterborough moved for Lewis Brunt this summer, only for Wrexham to hijack the deal.

Wrexham battling Derby for potential signings would have sounded crazy a few years ago, but Wrexham now have a genuine chance.

Longman, who cost Hull City around £1.5million, may be available this summer and his positional versatility is very appealing.

The 23-year-old can play as a winger or wing back on either side whilst also being able to play as a striker.

Wrexham have used wing backs through the Parkinson era but Longman’s ability to play further forward is very interesting.

Links to Longman haven’t really developed over the last month but Wrexham may still fancy a move for the Derby target before the deadline.
