Wrexham have completed the signing of Nathan Broadhead after agreeing on a potential £10million fee with Ipswich Town.
Wrexham’s record transfer fee has been shattered once again, with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds continuing to back Phil Parkinson in the market.
Reports on Thursday claimed that Wrexham were set to sign Nathan Broadhead after weeks of speculation.
The fee involved is one that few Wrexham fans could have ever imagined witnessing: £7.5million, potentially rising to £10million.
Broadhead has now completed his move to Wrexham, penning a four-year deal at the STōK Cae Ras.
The Welsh forward spent time in the Wrexham ranks as a kid, but departed at the age of 10, only to return some 17 years later.

Ipswich Town fans on Nathan Broadhead to Wrexham
Eyebrows were raised when Broadhead missed Ipswich’s defeat at Bromley in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Kieran McKenna claimed that Broadhead was ill, but seeing him join Wrexham less than 48 hours later suggests that the deal moved forward earlier in the week.
Broadhead is now on board at Wrexham, and Ipswich fans have been reacting on social media.
Many are sad to see Broadhead leave, believing that he was actually one of Ipswich’s best players in the final third.
Some believe that Ipswich have brought in other attacking players in an attempt to move on from Broadhead, but none of them have been as good as the Welshman.
Others accept that the price tag was simply too good to turn down, believing that the fee is ‘ridiculous’ and ‘outrageous’, though one fan claims that Broadhead is ‘worth every penny’.
Ipswich fans appear to be wishing Broadhead all the best at Wrexham, but accept that the club couldn’t turn down such a huge fee.
- Broady has given us some incredible memories; sometimes it just makes sense for all parties. £10m deal with one year left was impossible to turn down. Broady gets a 4-year contract at his boyhood club, which will also help him to become a Wales regular. What a player.
- £10m for Broady is amazing business, BUT I think he fit the system so well that finding someone who can do the same things for the same money will be almost impossible. As proven so far.
- We all absolutely love him. But £10m for a player whose contract is up at the end of the season, who barely featured last season and is way down the pecking order is a phenomenal bit of business. It’s the perfect outcome for all parties. I wish him nothing but the best.
- Gutted, but £10m for a player out of contract next summer is not to be sniffed at. Thank you for everything, that free kick against Wednesday, those goals against Port Vale! Take care of him, Wrexham, you’ve got a good’un!
- £10m is an outrageous figure on paper, but he’s worth every penny. Arguably the best winger we have at the club, and it’s going to leave an almighty hole to fill. Over to you, Mr Ashton!
- Gonna miss him. Forced out by us last season as we signed 3 players for his position, and he ended up probably being our best player in there. Sad we don’t get to see him boss the game in a Town shirt again. £10m is too good of a deal for us not to take, though.
- Feel like we could regret letting Broady go, even for £10m. His ability to change a game in an instant is so underrated.
- £10m is a great deal, but I absolutely love Broadhead, think he has been underused at Town.
- Shame, but £10m with only a year left on his contract, you can’t complain
- Great lad, Top player. Arguably the best player we have in this area of the pitch, but 10m for a player with 12 months left is fantastic business. Go well Broady
- Broadhead for £10m is crazy with a year left on his deal, class player, but that fee is too good to turn down, just hope it’s reinvested
- Mixed feelings about the Broadhead transfer news. On one hand, £10m sounds a hell of a lot of money for an injury-prone player who wasn’t first choice. However, he’s such a clever player and is probably better than Jack Clarke, who we keep persisting with due to his huge cost
- I love Broadhead. Vital part in our rise through the ranks, but £10m is a ridiculous amount.

When will Nathan Broadhead face Ipswich as a Wrexham player?
Broadhead spent two-and-a-half years at Ipswich and played a key role in two promotion-winning campaigns, so the love from Tractor Boys fans is understandable.
Wrexham head to Portman Road on 22 November, with Broadhead in line for an emotional return to his former club.
Ipswich then visit the STōK Cae Ras on 21 February 2016, and Broadhead will ultimately hope for two Wrexham victories against his former club.
We would expect a warm reception from Ipswich fans when Broadhead lines up against McKenna’s side, with the forward clearly popular among supporters.
