Wrexham may have two deadline day signings in mind as Phil Parkinson looks to bolster his squad on the final day of the window.

Wrexham can be delighted with the transfer window so far having made serious additions to Phil Parkinson’s squad.

The signing everybody wanted as actually the first to be completed as loan goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo signed on permanently.

Wrexham have managed to add some League One experience this summer with Callum Burton, Dan Scarr, George Dobson and Ollie Rathbone – four proven League One players – all signing.

Fans wanted to see some young players arrive too and that materialised with the arrivals of Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan from Premier League clubs Leicester City and Aston Villa respectively.

Brunt’s move saw Wrexham hijack Peterborough United for his signature and Wrexham may still have some signings in mind for deadline day.

Wrexham transfer hint spotted

Wrexham have already confirmed that the now-famous HP printer will be revealing another signing at 9am on deadline day.

Yet as we learned when Wrexham announced both Callum Burton and Sebastian Revan, two names could actually emerge.

Reports suggest that Modou Fall is signing for Wrexham today with a deal allegedly agreed for the West Bromwich Albion striker.

There could yet be another new signing though as one free agent may have been spotted in Wrexham training.

We have to credit the RobRyanRed Podcast here, who showed some eagle-eyed detective work to spot midfielder Josh Adam in the background of a Wrexham training photo.

Adam is a name which has been mentioned on social media in recent days but hasn’t really broken through to the media.

Adam’s father refused to deny that his son was the player in the picture in a now-deleted tweet, but perhaps Wrexham have dropped the biggest hint yet.

That photo of Anthony Forde, with Adam in the background, was posted on the club’s official website as part of a gallery from training ahead of facing Peterborough United.

The image has now been removed from Wrexham’s website, with the club seemingly realising that Adam – or somebody who may bear a striking resemblance to Adam – is in the background.

RobRyanRed add that Adam has indeed been training Wrexham, so perhaps this is a deal to watch out for on deadline day, even though he could sign outside of the window as a free agent.

Who is Josh Adam?

Adam hails from Glasgow and started out in the Celtic ranks before his potential caught the eye of Manchester City.

The Premier League champions pounced to sign Adam in July 2022 and has he been a regular for City at youth level.

Across 99 games at Under-18, Under-21 and UEFA Youth League level, Adam has racked up 18 goals and 12 assists.

Primarily a central midfielder who can play further forward or even out wide, Adam is still only 20 and is a free agent after leaving City this summer.

The Daily Mail reported just last summer that Lille and Club Brugge were interested in signing Adam.

Wrexham now appear to be in the box seat for Adam though, adding another young talent for the future to Phil Parkinson’s options.
