Wrexham are still in the market for new signings this summer despite completing a sixth additions of the window on Friday.

Wrexham had already wrapped up five signings before Friday’s latest announcement.

Arthur Okonkwo joined Wrexham permanently to the delight of his agent after a superb loan spell last season.

Backup goalkeeper Callum Burton arrived on a free transfer as competition for places having left Plymouth Argyle this summer.

George Dobson joined forces with his former Sunderland boss Phil Parkinson before Lewis Brunt and Sebastian Revan reunited.

The pair had been in the Aston Villa ranks together and have now been joined by a former Birmingham City youngster.

Defender Dan Scarr became signing number six on Friday, penning a three-year deal from Plymouth Argyle.

Phil Parkinson on more signings

Wrexham can be delighted with the summer business.

The goalkeeping position will be the envy of many League One clubs, possibly even some Championship clubs.

Wrexham have added depth across defence and now have a proven League One midfielder in Dobson.

The age profile of the Wrexham squad has come down too, so this summer looks like a success on paper.

Of course, Wrexham have to back that up with performances in League One but fans will certainly be encouraged.

There may even be scope for more signings though and Parkinson has now commented on further business.

Speaking to The Athletic, Parkinson admitted that the Wrexham squad is ‘getting there’ and a ‘couple’ of other deals are being worked on right now.

Parkinson did though add that the market has ‘become a bit distorted’ having encountered some ‘astronomical’ financial demands this summer.

Parkinson highlighted Birmingham City’s spending power but is happy with what Wrexham have managed to achieve this summer.

“The squad is getting there,” said Parkinson. “We are getting there. We are working on a couple of other things to add a bit more quality to what we have already got to make sure we can compete at this level.”

“There are obvious candidates in terms of who will be strong with the money that certain teams have spent. Like Birmingham, who’ve almost had the (spending) power of a lower Premier League club, never mind a Championship club. It’s a very competitive division. There’s more money because of the new (EFL) TV deal, so people have been spending. Some of the prices we’ve been quoted for players are astronomical.”

“The market has become a bit distorted, maybe because of Birmingham’s spending. But we’re pleased with the lads we’ve brought in and now it’s a case of, ‘Here we go again’. Let’s get ready for action,” he added.

Attackers linked with Wrexham

Wrexham are still in the market for signings and an attacking addition appears to be the top focus.

Paul Mullin’s continued absence means Wrexham may look to add another goalscorer this month.

Wrexham are keen on Bailey Cadamarteri and are now described as being in front of other clubs in the race for the Sheffield Wednesday striker.

Wrexham have also targeted Will Lankshear with the Tottenham Hotspur forward attracting interest.

Hull City and Sunderland want Lankshear too, so Wrexham are wise to have other targets in mind.

The latest target emerging in the press is Kieron Bowie with the Fulham talent on Wrexham’s radar.

A host of EFL clubs are keen on Bowie after two impressive seasons on loan at Northampton Town.

John McAtee is another Wrexham target with the Luton Town forward thought to be wanted at the STōK Cae Ras.

With so many forwards linked, it looks like Wrexham will focus on that area of the pitch – and Parkinson’s comments indicate that work is heading in the right direction.
