Wrexham have added a new face to Phil Parkinson’s attacking options with the signing of Plymouth Argyle hitman Ryan Hardie.
Wrexham fans have been watching other Championship clubs get involved in the summer transfer window.
Phil Parkinson tends to be fairly patient in the market, but he has now secured his first signing of the summer.
Wrexham have signed Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle, securing the striker’s signature on a three-year contract.
Hardie was a Wrexham target in January and Parkinson has finally landed his man for an undisclosed fee.
The Scot scored 10 Championship goals last season and will return to the second tier after suffering relegation with the Pilgrims.

Plymouth Argyle fans on Ryan Hardie
Wrexham fans are certainly excited to see a first summer signing pushed over the line, especially after weeks of speculation surrounding potential additions.
Hardie’s name has been bubbling away in recent days and the striker’s move to North Wales has now been rubber-stamped.
Hardie has proven himself at Championship level over the last couple of seasons and offers major pace to the Wrexham attack.
The news has hit hard for many Argyle fans, though, as Hardie will play no part in their new era under Tom Cleverley.
Argyle are looking to secure immediate promotion back to the Championship, but seeing Hardie leave dents those hopes.
Argyle confirmed Hardie’s exit on Monday night, and here are some of the reactions from crestfallen supporters as they said goodbye to Hardie.
- Top player. One of the Argyle greats
- A true Argyle great! Thanks for the incredible memories
- Remember watching you in L2 and thinking who’s this? You’ve become one of my favourite players over the last 50 years. Never gave anything less than 100%. Gutted you’ve gone, and will miss watching you in green.
- Very sad. A player who knew how special it was to be an Argyle player. Go well, Ryan. You deserve all the success in the world.
- One of the greatest in recent years, going to be hard to replace
- Gutted so wanted him to get 100 goals for us. A top-class striker when he’s on form will be missed. Whoever comes in at ST will have big shoes to fill
- Absolutely gutting but the outcome of an avoidable relegation. All the best Ryan. Anyone thinking he’s easily replaceable is very wrong. Absolutely gutting.
- This guy will go down as one of Argyle’s best players, dedicated, strong, committed and just an all-round great guy!
- Gutting, one of our most underrated and underappreciated players. One of the best goal-scorers we’ve had.
- Absolutely gutted… looked like this was going to happen, but doesn’t make the confirmation any easier. Again, slated a lot by our fan base, but what a goal scorer he was in the green.
The theme here is that Hardie is only a modern-day hero for Argyle, combining goalscoring ability with great work rate and dedication to the cause.
Many fans feel Hardie will be difficult to replace as the ‘top class’ striker makes his move to the STōK Cae Ras.
Don’t rule out another striker signing after Ryan Hardie
Hardie provides a major boost to Wrexham’s hopes in the Championship, having recently scored goals at this level.
We would expect to see Hardie playing a key role for Wrexham, but this move does not rule out other signings in the final third.
Steven Fletcher has left Wrexham this summer and Modou Faal may benefit from a loan move to a League One side.
Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer have been out of favour in 2025 and many expect to say difficult goodbyes to both strikers.
More departures in attack could see Wrexham move for another striker alongside Hardie, with Parkinson seeking real competition for places at the top end of this Wrexham side.
