Wrexham brought in two strikers during the January transfer window with Phil Parkinson now having an embarrassment of riches.
Wrexham already boasted five strikers heading into the January transfer window.
Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, Jack Marriott, Ollie Palmer, and summer signing Modou Faal were all at Parkinson’s disposal heading towards the January deadline.
Wrexham weren’t willing to settle, though, and instead moved to bring in not one but two new strikers before the window closed.
Sam Smith shattered Wrexham’s transfer record as he arrived from Reading, before Jay Rodriguez followed from Burnley.
Smith and Rodriguez have been finding the net in recent weeks to continue Wrexham’s promotion push, justifying those January deals.

Pundit comments on Wrexham interest in Ryan Hardie
Smith was the major January addition and by far the biggest investment of the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era.
Wrexham were linked with other strikers during that January window, though, with Ryan Hardie among them.
Reports ahead of the January transfer window suggested that Wrexham were keen to sign Hardie from Plymouth Argyle in a £2million raid.
No deal materialised in January, and Hardie enjoyed a hot streak as the window closed, hitting five goals in four games in February.
Hardie has been in and out since then, though, as Argyle battle against relegation from the Championship.
Pundit Lee Hendrie has now told Football League World that he would not be surprised to see Wrexham look at Hardie again this summer.
Hendrie believes that Wrexham would be looking for an ‘out and out goalscorer’ if promotion to the Championship is secured.
The former Aston Villa man feels that Hardie could be the man, highlighting that he has scored goals in the Championship with Argyle.
“He is one of them players who you know is capable of scoring goals in that sort of division, and he’s proven really,” said Hendrie.
“He hasn’t featured probably as much as he would have liked this season, and obviously the new regime – it’s a little bit different.
“He’s started to get a little bit more game-time, but again, I think that if Wrexham are to get promoted or even Huddersfield, you would probably think that they would be looking at someone who is maybe a bit of an out and out goalscorer, which Hardie is.
“As I said, he’s proven, and they might get him for a reasonable fee. So, it wouldn’t surprise me if both of them clubs are linked with him in the summer,” he added.
Wrexham striking situation ahead of the summer window
Wrexham spent handsomely on Smith, and the wages on Rodriguez will not exactly be cheap.
Spending more on strikers isn’t out of the question, but Wrexham may need to offload some players first.
Humphrey Ker feels that Paul Mullin has a Wrexham future, but he has struggled for League One action of late.
That means Mullin may well move on this summer, and Ollie Palmer may not be far behind.
Palmer finds himself out of favour, too, with the popular striker seemingly poised for a new challenge this summer.
A loan move for Modou Faal could be ideal, and that may just open up room for another striker to arrive, especially if promotion is secured.
Hardie is tried and tested in the Championship, and that knowledge may well put him back on Wrexham’s radar come the end of the season.
