Wrexham have announced summer signing number two and may have been given a boost in pursuit of another addition.
Phil Parkinson landed a major coup in May as goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo committed his future to the club.
Okonkwo’s Arsenal contract expires this summer and Wrexham have managed to strike a deal to bring him in full-time.
Wrexham have now backed that up with another signing as Lewis Brunt has joined from Leicester City.
The centre back arrived for an undisclosed fee and adds depth to Parkinson’s options at the back.
This is another exciting signing for the future at Wrexham but Parkinson may still want to add more experience.

Wrexham target Joe Morrell says goodbye to Portsmouth
Adding a proven League One player in midfield could be a smart move for Wrexham.
Luke Young has moved on this summer and whilst Elliot Lee, Andy Cannon and George Evans provide experience, another option would be ideal.
Reports in June suggested that Wrexham were looking into a move to sign midfielder Joe Morrell.
The Wales international is out of contract at Portsmouth this summer and Pompey haven’t been too sure whether he will stick around.
Well, Morrell has now confirmed his stance – and he is on his way out of Fratton Park.
Morrell has taken to social media to say goodbye to Portsmouth after 105 appearances for the club.
It’s unclear just where Morrell is going, but he wish Portsmouth all the best and noted that the club will always have a special place in his heart.
“A special football club that will always have a place in my heart,” said Morrell.
“105 appearances, not many goals and a few red cards, but most importantly a League One winners medal.”
“It’s always meant so much for me to play for this football club, and I hope that that’s always come across. I’ll always be proud to say that I’ve played for Pompey.”
“I just want to say thank you to the players, staff and supporters for everything over the last three years and wish everyone connected with the club all the best for the future,” he added.
Who is Wrexham target Morrell?
Morrell hails from Ipswich but started his career in the Bristol City ranks, making just six appearances for the first team.
After non-league loan spells with Sutton United and Margate, Morrell impressed for Cheltenham Town and Lincoln City, prompting a 2020 move to Luton Town.
That switch didn’t quite work out and Morrell was sold to Portsmouth less than a year later.
The diminutive midfielder has really found a home at Fratton Park but now moves on with a switch to Wrexham potentially in the pipeline.
Morrell – no relation to the Wrexham hero Andy Morrell – has picked up 37 caps for Wales since his debut in 2019 and may now relish the chance to turn out for Wrexham too.
