Following their promotion to the Championship, Hollywood-owned Wrexham are widely expected to make a splash in the summer transfer window.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have never been afraid to fork out large sums to get the players they want, and having just secured back-to-back-to-back promotions, this summer promises to be no different.

News of a £40m cash windfall thanks to Championship football in 2025/26 has led to a multitude of players already being linked with a move to Wales before the transfer window has even opened.

One such player has been Cardiff City’s Callum Robinson. Following Cardiff’s relegation from the Championship, chairman Mehmet Dalman has admitted that a number of players could be sold by the club this summer, with many speculating that Robinson could be one of those players.

Here’s everything Wrexham fans need to know about their latest striker target.

Callum Robinson Championship stats

Wrexham are notably keen to sign Championship-proven players this summer, and Robinson is certainly that.

The 30-year-old has played a whopping 272 games in the Championship during his time at Preston North End, Bristol City, West Bromwich Albion and most recently Cardiff City.

In said games, Robinson has scored plenty of goals too, netting 61 and setting up a further 36 for his teammates.

Despite Cardiff City suffering relegation to League One, 2024/25 was actually Robinson’s joint-best season in front of goal ever. The striker plundered 12 goals in the Championship, matching his tally from his final season at Preston back in 2018/19.

Callum Robinson transfer to Wrexham latest

A report from Callum Witcoop recently claimed that Callum Robinson was on Wrexham’s radar thanks to his proven ability to score goals in the Championship.

The striker is reportedly valued at around £2m, which would match Wrexham’s current record transfer fee – spent to sign Sam Smith from Reading during the winter transfer window.

Robinson isn’t the only Cardiff City player on Wrexham’s radar either. Ollie Tanner and Isaak Davies are both also of interest to Phil Parkinson as he looks to rebuild his squad to compete in the Championship during the 2025/26 season.

Record transfer fee previously spent on Robinson

‘Wrexham would not be the only team to have spent a club record fee on Robinson if he were to join them this summer.

Sheffield United once spent £7m to sign Robinson back in 2019 while in the Premier League. After just one goal in 17 games, however, he was shipped out on loan to West Brom in the Championship.
