Wrexham are closing in on signing Manchester City defender Callum Doyle, but are already moving for another arrival.
Wrexham’s transfer window has brought nine new faces in a remarkable summer for Phil Parkinson.
Ryan Hardie, Danny Ward, Liberato Cacace, George Thomason, Josh Windass, Lewis O’Brien, Conor Coady, Kieffer Moore and Nathan Broadhead have all joined Wrexham this summer.
Wrexham’s transfer record has been broken three times this summer, with Cacace, O’Brien and Broadhead all representing new record outlays under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
The spending isn’t stopping there, though, as Wrexham are closing in on signing Callum Doyle from Manchester City.
The defender is nearing an £8million move to the STōK Cae Ras, and another seven-figure target is now emerging.

Wrexham launch move for Jordan James
French newspaper L’Equipe now claim that Wrexham are moving to sign Rennes midfielder Jordan James.
Italian side Parma have been chasing James in a loan-to-buy deal, but have so far failed to reach an agreement.
Wrexham are now looking to swoop in, with a deal worth around €5million (£4.3million) now being discussed.
That sounds cheap, but James started just 14 Ligue 1 games last season, and Ricky Massara – the man who brought James to Rennes – was sacked at the end of last season.
Massara has now joined Roma, and the changes at Rennes may lead to James being sold just a year after his arrival.
Negotiations are underway as Wrexham look to hijack Parma’s move and bring James to the STōK Cae Ras.
James will be familiar to many Wrexham fans, having earned 20 caps for the Welsh national team at senior level.
The 21-year-old hails from Hereford, but his father is Welsh, paving the way for him to represent the Dragons on the international stage.
An all-action midfielder with a bright future ahead of him, James would be another significant addition to this Wrexham side and another Welsh addition to Parkinson’s squad.
Jordan James left Birmingham City last summer
James only joined Rennes last summer, as he completed a move away from Birmingham City.
The Blues saw James emerge through their youth ranks and become a first-team star, playing more than 100 times at senior level.
As Birmingham suffered relegation to League One, James was sold to Rennes in a deal worth up to £8million, as noted by Birmingham Live.
BBC Sport claim that the initial fee was around £4million, with Rennes potentially ready to cash in for a similar price.
Birmingham are bound to have a sell-on clause in play here, but Wrexham may soon be in a position to unleash James against the Blues as Parkinson chases another big addition.
