Wrexham are aiming to secure promotion from League One in 2024/25 but have heavy competition.
The Red Dragons could make history by securing a third-straight promotion from League One this season.
Phil Parkinson’s men got their campaign off to a superb start with Wrexham beating Wycombe Wanderers 3-2 on the opening weekend.
The Hollywood-owned club looked a level above Wycombe that day but Matt Bloomfield has since taken his side on an incredible run.
As we head toward the Boxing Day fixtures, Wrexham have slipped down to third in the division following back-to-back draws with Cambridge United and Bristol Rovers.
Meanwhile, Birmingham City have unsurprisingly taken top spot, while Wycombe are one point above the Welsh team with a game in hand.
However, the Wanderers could be about to lose a key player in the January transfer window.

Wrexham rivals Wycombe Wanderers could lose Richard Kone in January
A key reason for The Chairboys’ success this term has been the sheer number of goals they have been able to score.
43 goals in 20 games is the most in League One by some distance in 2024/25, with Richard Kone having an important role in that tally.
Kone has nine goals in 20 appearances, making him the fourth-highest scorer in the third tier at present.
Now, however, Football League World are reporting that Championship outfit Luton Town are considering a move for the Wycombe centre-forward.
Luton scouts have already sent scouts to watch Kone on several occasions this term ahead of a potential winter approach.
Should the 21-year-old end up leaving for the Hatters, this would likely deal Wycombe’s promotion hopes a blow and open the door for Wrexham to reclaim second place.

Wrexham and Wycombe Wanderers next five fixtures compared
After beating Crawley Town on Monday, Birmingham have secured top spot, and given the amount of money they spent over the summer and the quality of the players they have, it’s hard to see them finishing anywhere but first.
As a result, the second automatic promotion place will likely go to one of Wrexham or Wycombe.
It’s going to be a tight race, with both sides having some tricky fixtures to contest with in the coming weeks.
