Wrexham are looking for new signings ahead of the Championship season and could break the mould by shopping abroad.
Wrexham have completed two signings this summer, but Phil Parkinson wants a lot more.
Danny Ward and Ryan Hardie have joined Wrexham and are part of the travelling squad in Australia and New Zealand.
Reports ahead of the transfer window suggested that Wrexham were planning to splash the cash.
That hasn’t happened just yet, with Ward signing for free and Hardie arriving for just £700,000.
The big money could come soon, with Wrexham now looking further afield for potential signings.

Wrexham ‘seriously interested’ in Liberato Cacace
Wrexham are yet to shop abroad for signings in the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era.
The club’s incredible rise has surely caught the attention of players all over the world, with Wrexham holding a worldwide pull like never before.
Reports last week highlighted that Wrexham are keen on signing Liberato Cacace from Empoli following their relegation from Serie A.
That certainly looked to be an exciting pursuit, and reporter Rudy Galetti now claims that Wrexham are ‘seriously interested’ in signing the New Zealand star.
Galetti claims that the race for Cacace’s signature is ‘wide open’, with Italian sides Lecce and Cremonese in the mix as well.
Cacace would slot in as a left wing-back in Parkinson’s Wrexham system and would mark an ambitious capture if a deal can be done.
Formerly a wonderkid at Wellington Phoenix, Cacace has since impressed in Belgium and Italy.
Still only 24, Cacace is the kind of signing Wrexham couldn’t have even dreamt of a few years ago, but is now a very realistic target.
Phil Parkinson hint on Wrexham transfers
Wrexham already have three left wing-backs in James McClean, Jacob Mendy and Sebastian Revan.
Mendy and Revan didn’t play as much as they would have hoped last season, and Parkinson may now be ready to splash the cash on Cacace.
Empoli want around £3.5million for Cacace, which would be a club-record transfer.
Intriguingly, Parkinson has highlighted the potential for Wrexham to sign players from Australia and New Zealand.
Speaking to Code Sports in Australia last week, Parkinson admitted that signing players from Australia or New Zealand would be ‘great’ for Wrexham.
Wrexham are visiting Australia and New Zealand on a pre-season tour this summer, and Parkinson may feel that the club will only grow even more popular by signing a key player from one of those countries.
Cacace certainly fits the bill, and Wrexham’s pursuit of his signature makes even more sense when you factor in that Parkinson’s hint.
