Wrexham face off with League Two outfit Harrogate Town in an FA Cup clash on Sunday afternoon.

Wrexham were last in action on Saturday, facing off with Charlton Athletic in a League One meeting.

The Red Dragons looked to be heading toward another victory away from the Racecourse Ground but the home side scored a 97th-minute equaliser.

Phil Parkinson has shared what Wrexham were told about the Charlton penalty and he was not happy post-match.

However, the Welsh outfit must now turn their attention away from the league and switch focus to the FA Cup.

Wrexham have never made it past the quarter-final stage of the competition and were knocked out in the fourth round by Blackburn Rovers.

They now face Harrogate Town in a 3:30pm BST kick-off on November 3rd in Yorkshire.

Wrexham have never beaten Harrogate in their previous three meetings but are favourites going into this game.

How Harrogate Town really feel about facing Wrexham

Despite drawing with Wrexham twice in League Two in 2023/24 and beating them in the FA Cup back in 2021, this is not an ideal draw for Harrogate.

Smaller clubs can benefit greatly from a lengthy run in the FA Cup but facing a League One powerhouse likely means they will crash out in the first round.

Now, as per BBC Sport, Harrogate chief executive Sarah Barry has shared how they initially reacted to being drawn against Wrexham, revealing that the financial aspect of the clash has changed their mind on the game.

She said: “The initial reaction was a bit mixed because our objective is to get through to round two and then the third round and this is going to be one of the toughest draws in terms of the football.

“But we are really excited, and the best measure in terms of the interest in this match is that my commercial director within about two minutes of the draw said that the hospitality has nearly sold out.”

What Phil Parkinson said about facing Harrogate Town

Wrexham are expected to make some changes to their starting eleven for Sunday’s game.

Cup competitions are normally a good chance for managers to give fringe stars a run in the side.

However, as per Leader Live, Parkinson hinted he may still pick a strong team for the game.

He said: “We have got a great history in the FA Cup and we will be picking the team we feel is right for this game.

“Whether there are a few changes to the team or not, we haven’t decided yet because we want a good look at the group this week in training.

“I want to assess everybody and we will pick the best team we feel can win the game.”
