James McClean sends message to Wrexham teammates after first 90-minute win of season vs Preston

Wrexham came from behind to secure a huge win over Preston North End on Tuesday.

As has been the case with nearly every Wrexham display so far this season, it was very much a game of two halves.

The Red Dragons started poorly and conceded two goals in the opening 45 minutes of the clash.

However, it was a much-improved second half from Phil Parkinson’s team, who, when all was said and done, beat Preston North End 3-2.

James McClean made the matchday squad but did not feature. He’s now sent a message to his teammates post-match.

Wrexham fans were in awe of Callum Doyle on his debut for the club following his transfer from Manchester City.

Kieffer Moore impressed off the bench as well, scoring his third goal in two games for the Welsh powerhouse.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s club will now feature in the next round of the Carabao Cup, with the draw set to take place later this week.

On his teammates’ display, McClean took to Instagram post-match to share his reaction.

Quoting a post from Wrexham’s official account, the left-back wrote on his story: “Lovely stuff men,” alongside a clapping emoji.

Wrexham build momentum ahead of Millwall

So far this season, Wrexham have lost two and drawn one in the Championship.

They beat Hull City in the first round of the Carabao Cup, but that game was decided via a penalty shootout.

Preston was the first time they have won in 90 minutes so far this season, and their second-half showing should give them plenty of confidence going into their next clash vs Millwall.

It will be their final fixture before the September international break.
