Wrexham returned to Carabao Cup action against Preston North End on August 26.
The Red Dragons managed to come from 3-1 down to beat Hull City on penalties in the previous round.
Ollie Palmer scored two goals off the bench during that impressive comeback.
But Palmer was not involved for Wrexham vs Preston North End amid his uncertain future at the club.
It was a much-changed side from Phil Parkinson, who gave a first start to new signing Callum Doyle.

Wrexham fans react to Callum Doyle vs Preston North End
Wrexham fell behind on the night after less than seven minutes, being cut open far too easily through the middle.
Ryan Hardie then scored a stunning goal to bring the away side back on level terms, but Preston managed to net a second before the break and could easily have had another.
Parkinson’s men had a much better start to the second 45, with Harry Ashfield making it 2-2 shortly before the hour mark, before Kieffer Moore came on to see Wrexham beat Preston 3-2.
However, it was the club’s most recent signing, Doyle, who earned many of the plaudits from fans during the tie.
One fan wrote: “Callum Doyle might be the most talented player to ever touch a Wrexham shirt.”
A second reacted to his display: “Doyle, that lad can play…”
“Callum Doyle is ——- ace,” stated another Wrexham fan, with a fourth agreeing: “So —- good.”
A fifth tweeted: “Callum Doyle has done very well on his debut and can certainly pick a pass,” while a sixth replied: “Looked so good.”
Another Red Dragons fan wrote: “Doyle has been fantastic tonight.”
Callum Doyle stats for Wrexham vs Preston North End
Doyle was named on the bench against Sheffield Wednesday over the weekend but did not feature.
However, after a first start in a Wrexham shirt, it’s easy to see why fans are excited by the defender.
Wrexham’s left-hand side has looked weak recently, but the arrival of Doyle and the return of Liberato Cacace should change that in the coming weeks.
