Wrexham have parted ways with another player, and Humphrey Ker is among those to react.

Since winning promotion out of League One, the Dragons have let a number of previously important players leave the club.

It began in May when Wrexham released eight players who were out of contract at the end of June.

More high-profile exits have since followed, including Paul Mullin joining Wigan Athletic.

Now, another transfer exit has been confirmed this week, and club chief Humphrey Ker has reacted.

It was recently reported that Reading wanted to sign Jack Marriott from Wrexham.

The striker lost his starting berth after returning from injury during the 2024/25 season, which he began in impressive fashion.

Wrexham have now confirmed Marriott’s exit in an official statement, with the player joining Reading on a permanent basis.

Following the centre-forward’s departure, Ker has taken to Instagram to send a message to the now former Dragons ace.

He stated: “Farewell to @jackmarriott14. A top man and respectable and fellow audient to whatever @andy14cannon was on about.”

Marriott responded to the message by writing: “Legend @humphreyker”.

Andy Cannon also sent a social media message to the player. He wrote: “Go well my mate gonna miss you 2nd seed”.

How many goals did Jack Marriott score for Wrexham

Amid their battle to secure promotion from League Two, Wrexham signed Marriott midway through the 2023/24 season.

He played 17 games in the fourth tier for the Red Dragons, finding the back of the net once.

2024/25 began with the 30-year-old partnering Ollie Palmer up front amid an injury to Paul Mullin.

Marriott scored five league goals before a long-term injury kept him out for several months.

His seventh and final goal for Wrexham came on April 5 in a 3-0 win over Burton Albion.
