James McClean watched on from home as Wrexham saw off Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.
Wrexham were likely expecting a tough outing when they welcomed Bolton Wanderers to the Racecourse Ground on February 11th.
Bolton love to dominate the ball and did so for large periods of the meeting in Wales but to no avail.
Arthur Okonkwo was back to his best between the sticks, dealing with the few decent chances the away outfit created with all their possession.
And while it was not a classic from Phil Parkinson and co., Wrexham did beat Bolton 1-0 to secure their place in the semi-final of the EFL Trophy.
They will take on Peterborough United in the last four before a potential meeting with Birmingham City or Bradford City in the showpiece come April.

James McClean reacts to Wrexham win over Bolton
Bolton fans were furious vs Wrexham but there was little they, nor their players, could have done about Andy Cannon’s brilliant goal.
After receiving the ball from George Evans, Cannon showed great skill and composure before smacking in a long-range stunner.
Now, following the tie, James McClean has taken to Instagram to share his verdict on the match, which he was not a part of.
Sebastian Revan started at left-wing-back, while Jacob Mendy was the substitute option on the night, giving McClean the evening off.
Instantly following the match, the Irishman took to his Instagram story to write “Love it lads”, followed by clapping and praise hands emojis. He then tagged goalscorer Cannon and the assist provider, Evans.

Who will start in midfield for Wrexham vs Northampton Town
McClean singling out Evans and Cannon on the night makes a lot of sense, especially as the former was one of the best players on the pitch.
But Wrexham are now set to prepare for a League One meeting with Northampton Town on Saturday and it remains to be seen who will start in midfield.
The aforementioned duo plus Ollie Rathbone, George Dobson, and Elliot Lee are all competing for just three places.
Evans’ display vs Bolton certainly warrants him being given another chance, but his lack of minutes in League One this season may prevent that from happening.
