Wrexham are set to face Derby County in the Championship this weekend, with the Red Dragons still in search of their first victory in the Championship this campaign at the Racecourse.
Phil Parkinson delivered a first victory for Wrexham over Norwich City in 55 years with a fine performance over the Canaries.
Josh Windass and Issa Kaboré were the standout performers for Wrexham in their 3-2 victory over Norwich, and this will give them confidence going into this weekend’s Championship fixture.
As Wrexham continue to make history this season, as they secured consecutive wins away from home in the second tier for only the third time ever, the Red Dragons will be looking forward to their next fixture in the Championship against Derby.
Wrexham will look to earn their first win against Derby County in 45 years
The Red Dragons do not have a great record against Derby County, as they have only won two of the nine fixtures the clubs have squared off in.
Wrexham’s last victory came in the old Division Two in September 1980, with their only other success against Derby coming in their first ever match, as they won 3-1 in the old Division Three (North) in 1955.

This victory in 1955 was the only success Wrexham have ever had at home against Derby, and so there will be a desire to bring an end to this poor home record against the Rams.
Wrexham and Derby have drawn on two occasions, coming a year apart, when they drew 2-2 in 1981 before drawing 1-1 in 1982, both results coming in the old Division Two.
Phil Parkinson is looking to improve his record against Derby County
The Wrexham manager has been involved in football management for a long time before being appointed at the helm of the Red Dragons.
Phil Parkinson has faced Derby on eight occasions already, with his record not being one he will be overly proud of, having only won two of these fixtures.

Parkinson’s only other victory came while in charge of Bolton Wanderers, as he managed to get a win over Frank Lampard’s Derby, losing on three other occasions while in charge of the Trotters against the Rams.
