Wrexham are back up to second in the League One table after a late win 2-1 over Wigan Athletic on Sunday afternoon.
Phil Parkinson was seeking another home victory after a narrow win over Blackpool on Boxing Day.
Wigan Athletic were the visitors on Sunday afternoon with the busy festive period continuing of Wrexham.
Wrexham took the lead in this one as Ryan Barnett fired the opener with an hour on the clock.
Manchester United loanee Joe Hugill appeared to have salvaged a point for Wigan before Steven Fletcher pounced.
Fletcher converted James McClean’s cross to secure a late victory – just as he did against Blackpool on Boxing Day.

Phil Parkinson hails Wrexham star with ‘immense quality’
The Scot once again started on the bench against Wigan Athletic but made his presence felt once again.
Fletcher’s goal was his third off the bench in the last four games with the veteran proving to be something of a super-sub.
Fletcher suffered an injury in October and some will have worried about his return given that he is now 37.
An injury setback for Fletcher in November could have easily derailed Fletcher’s season but he has responded in style.
Fletcher has now been praised by boss Parkinson as he spoke to Wrexham Matchday Live after the final whistle on Sunday.
Parkinson suggested that Fletcher has ‘immense quality’ – and not just because of his turn and shot for the winner.
Parkinson praised Fletcher’s ability in the air whilst believing that he offers a real focal point in the final third.
“It was different today because he came on at 1-0, which is unusual for Fletch,” said Parkinson.
“We normally put him on when it’s level or we’re getting beat. He’s just got immense quality – his quality is incredible.
“It’s not just his goal, but when the ball goes up to him it sticks, he’ll flick headers onto people and he passes it with his head almost at times.
“Three goals from the bench is not bad in recent weeks,” he added.
Ryan Barnett praises Steven Fletcher
Wing back Ryan Barnett opened the scoring and also spoke about Fletcher whilst speaking to Wrexham Matchday Live.
Barnett – who hails from Shrewsbury just like Fletcher – heaped praise on the experienced forward.
Barnett even claims that Fletcher is one of the best players in Wrexham training and his goal against Wigan was no surprise as he claims Fletcher comes up with such goals in training too.
“You’re sort of thinking ‘here we go again’ when they score and thinking it’s going to be another draw, but when you’ve got Steven Fletcher on the pitch, he can produce a moment like that and he’s done it again,” said Barnett.
“When you’re bringing on a player with that kind of experience, you know that, if he gets the chance, he’s going to finish it.
“Even in training, I know he’s getting towards the end of his career now, but he’s one of the best players in training every time.
“He shows that quality every day in training and he scores goals like that all the time. It’s a pleasure to play with him and he’s helped me a lot with pointers with my game and he’s a really good player to have in the box.
Ben Tozer has praised Fletcher too and the veteran striker will certainly relish the acclaim coming his way as Wrexham end 2024 with another win.
