EFL pundit Sam Parkin has predicted who will win when Wrexham travel to Stoke City on Saturday.

The Red Dragons drew three games in a row prior to the international break, leaving them 18th in the Championship.

Wrexham are yet to win at home in the second tier this season, but have fared much better on the road.

Despite this, Sam Parkin still expects Phil Parkinson’s side to lose when they make the trip to the bet365 Stadium this weekend.

Wrexham will lose to Stoke City

Stoke will be without Bae Jun-ho for the tie due to injury, which may limit their creativity somewhat.

But Parkin still believes the Potters will have enough to take home the three points.

Speaking alongside Benjamin Bloom, he predicted a 1-0 win for Mark Robins’ men.

He said: “I think the three or four players that he’s [Parkinson] slowly dripfed into the side now, recruited in the last knockings of the window has made a big difference to them.

“But I’m happy to flip you on this occasion. That all said, I think Stoke are pretty solid now, quite fine margins in their games.

“I’ll go for them to win 1-0. That seemed to be a bit of a feature last season when they just kind of needed something. They were able to churn something out at home. So I’ll go for 1-0.”

Ollie Rathbone and Liberato Cacace could return for Wrexham vs Stoke City

Ahead of the tie, Parkinson has confirmed the return of two players.

Ollie Rathbone is registered in the Championship squad following his lengthy injury lay-off.

Meanwhile, left-back Liberato Cacace is available for selection after missing Wrexham’s last five league matches.

Parkinson said on Cacace: “He did a lot of work with the medical team on the grass last week; while other people were off, he’s been in working and now he’s joined in fully and he’s ready to go.”

The defender has made two appearances since his summer move, one of which was a surprise 2-0 win away at Millwall.
