Wrexham picked up another vital win on Saturday afternoon, beating Rotherham United 1-0 thanks to Sam Smith’s goal.
Wrexham had to hit back after losing to Peterborough United in the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy.
Phil Parkinson has now seen Wrexham pick up seven points in three League One games to keep the promotion push alive and kicking.
Wrexham beat Huddersfield Town 1-0 in midweek and repeated the trick against another Yorkshire opponent – this time Rotherham United.
It was another 1-0 special for Wrexham as January signing Sam Smith bagged the only goal of the game, slotting home coolly from Jay Rodriguez’s flick-on.
That is three clean sheets in a week for Wrexham, completely shutting the back door after that collapse against Peterborough.

Smith added that scoring at the STōK Cae Ras for the first time was ‘special feeling’, with Wrexham teammates showing their support for him in the replies.

Wrexham can’t afford to look too far ahead here – not even to next weekend’s huge clash with Wycombe Wanderers.
Tuesday becomes the full focus right away as Wrexham prepare to take on Reading away from home.
This game will not only see Parkinson return to face his former club from his playing days, but also see Smith take on the club he left in January.
Smith said an emotional farewell to Reading as he packed his bags and joined Wrexham in a deal the Royals simply couldn’t reject.
The Wrexham striker had two spells at Reading and still holds the club close to his heart despite his exit.
Tuesday night will be a strange one for Smith as he returns to face Reading, but he will fully set on aiding Wrexham’s promotion charge.
