Wrexham and Derby County face off in a Championship meeting this weekend, and the most likely winner has been named.

Wrexham go into the meeting looking to secure three wins in a row for the first time this season.

The Red Dragons bested Reading in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday after seeing off Norwich City in the Championship.

The win over Norwich moved the Dragons away from the relegation zone and up to 16th in the table.

Opta predicts the winner of Wrexham vs Derby County

Wrexham won their first home game of the season against Reading and are backed to make it two in a row on September 27.

Derby are struggling this season, having won just one of their opening Championship matches.

Now, Opta’s supercomputer has named the most likely winner from the upcoming meeting at the Racecourse Ground.

The Rams are given a 27.7% chance of taking three points back to Pride Park on Saturday.

However, it is Wrexham who are expected to emerge victorious, with a 45.4% chance of winning this weekend.

Wrexham vs Derby County head-to-head record

Wrexham have not enjoyed much success in this fixture, historically.

They won the first-ever meeting between the pair in 1955, earning a 3-1 win.

Derby then won three in a row before Wrexham secured a 1-0 victory in September 1980.

Since then, two fixtures have ended in draws, with the remaining two matches going in favour of the Rams.

The duo last met in January 2007 when Derby picked up a 1-0 win in the FA Cup.
