Phil Parkinson has now highlighted what went wrong for Wrexham in their 1-1 draw against Forest Green Rovers.
Wrexham’s alarming slump in form continued on Tuesday night as Paul Mullin’s 93rd-minute penalty, his first goal in eight matches, salvaged a point.
Despite dominating 75% of the ball, Phil Parkinson’s side were unable to craft any real pieces of quality with the hosts successfully nullifying their threat.
The Reds have now won two of their last nine matches in League Two but are still somehow just one point off third, which shows how other teams are also just as consistent.
During this poor run, individuals haven’t been anywhere near their best and the tactics deployed by Parkinson have been predictable to play against.
Forest Green will have seen that the visitors struggle to break down teams who sit men behind the ball and that’s exactly how the game played out as the Welsh side were ultimately left frustrated.

Speaking to Wrexham’s official YouTube channel after the match, Parkinson didn’t feel his side produced enough moments to win the match, although he did use the excuse that the ball didn’t fall right for his players.
“Of course, we can be better,” he said. “With the amount of ball we had tonight, but listen, sometimes things don’t quite go for you and we’ve had that Saturday, and took it into tonight’s game where we didn’t produce the moments or things just didn’t fall for us in and around the box.”
Looking ahead to Saturday’s home clash against Accrington Stanley, the former Bradford City boss wants to use Mullin’s late equaliser as a platform to build from.
He added: “We’ll use that goal as the springboard to take us into the home game at the weekend.”
Wrexham must improve to earn promotion
After bringing in a whole host of quality signings in the summer and in January, the pressure is on Parkinson to deliver promotion, but right now his side aren’t even delivering good performances.
For weeks, especially away from home, Wrexham haven’t been at the level required to finish in the automatic promotion spots and that has concerned supporters.
Yes, he’s missing some of his key players such as Will Boyle and George Evans, but there is still enough quality in the squad to be performing better than they are.
It is ultimately down to the manager to get more out of this group and right now, he’s failing on that front.
Whilst it is ludicrous to call for his head when Wrexham are sat fourth in the table, questions will be asked of Parkinson if these performances continue.
The Reds will be looking to return to their best in a home fixture against Accrington on Saturday.
