Wrexham took on Blackpool in League One on Boxing Day, with Phil Parkinson’s side running out 2-1 victors.
The Christmas hangover looked apparent in the early stages, with Steve Bruce’s side scoring within three minutes through Ashley Fletcher at the Stok Racecourse.
But then the Wrexham legend himself replied. Super Paul Mullin was given his first start since the 11th of November, coming in for the injured Elliot Lee, and rewarded Phil Parkinson’s trust with a quite ludicrous strike to equalise. Fans think Mullin is well and truly back.
Then, it was Wrexham’s Fletcher to have his say. Steven Fletcher stepped up from a penalty right before the depth to give all three points to the Red Dragons.
But aside from the drama on the pitch, there was also some off. Which Wrexham fans were particularly annoyed about throughout the tie.

Wrexham fans fury at fog vs Blackpool
Christmas schedule weather is always unpredictable, but the fog was nothing short of ludicrous as the Red Dragons battled the Tangerines.
The weather was that bad, it meant that viewers watching the game on TV and at the Stok Racecourse at points could barely see, which led to outrage on social media.
A first put: ‘Intermittently watching at work and just saw Mulls lace one through the fog! Is it as bad in person as it looks on the TV? This was then confirmed via images from the ground.’
One fan said before Blackpool’s opener: ‘How did he see where the goal was with all the fog?’
Another adds, with annoyance. ‘Struggling to see a f****** thing!’
Here someone showed sympathy for the referees: ‘Watching this Wrexham game and this fog has to make the V1/V2’s job a nightmare.’
Another account acknowledged the nearby Tranmere clash had been called off, whilst others were baffled as to how this game went ahead.
‘The game should be called off’ and ‘How has this game stayed on?’ were two more utterances from the Wrexham faithful.
Wrexham fans will be happy the game went ahead
Ultimately, the game went ahead, and despite a rather unsatisfactory watching experience, the Red Dragons prevailed with all three points.
Fletcher’s penalty now means the Red Dragons keep up with Birmingham and Wycombe, who both also won on Boxing Day.
Next up – Wigan Athletic, who travel to the Racecourse in three days time. Let’s pray the weather is a bit better when the Tics arrive.
