Wrexham played Blackpool on boxing day, in a game where Phil Parkinson’s side ran out 2-1 winners.
Wrexham were without star man Elliot Lee through injury, meaning Paul Mullin was given his first start for some time.
A start, that was immediately rewarded. Mullin scored the equaliser, which was an absolute cracker on the volley.
This has got Wrexham fans talking, and they’re all saying exactly the same thing.

Wrexham fans now think Paul Mullin is well and truly back
Wrexham fans’ perspectives switched on Mullin flipped last week, with the cameo against Bristol an excellent one. But now after he’s started and scored a quite ridiculous goal – they’re now convinced he’s back to his best.
A first says: ‘Beautiful strike! Mullin is back baby!’ as another puts: ‘They’re all hugging Mullin, I’m going to assume that he scored?!? WOW, what a strike! Mulls is back, baby!’
Another acknowledges his super strike: ‘I was sat right behind this and could see where it was going the moment he took the touch, take a bow Super Paul Mullin.’
An excited Red Dragons fan wrote: ‘SUPER. PAUL. MULLIN. IS. BACK. BABY.’
One more puts: ‘Form is only temporary class is permanent A special goal and an equaliser from Paul Mullin as Wrexham_AFC find a way back in the game.’
Mullin hasn’t had his finest season by any means, with goals few and far between. But now the mood has well and truly switched, and he could certainly be a big part of Parkinson’s plans going forward this season.
Paul Mullin’s game by numbers vs Blackpool
The Wrexham ace was a huge catalyst for the Red Dragons’ win against Steve Bruce’s tangerines, but is he back to his best?
His stats still aren’t too great, but big moments like that he produced today mean he’s always a good option for Wrexham.
Mullin vs Blackpool
- 84 minutes played
- 1 goal
- 12/16 accurate passes
- 28 touches
- 2 times dispossessed
- 2/4 shots on target
When he arrived at the Stok Racecourse, fans knew how integral he’d be, but strikes like this really cement what a player Parkinson and co still have on their hands.
So what’s next for Mullin and his side? Well, the Wrexham Christmas schedule is now full speed ahead, with a Wigan Athletic visiting Wales in just three days time.
Best believe, we’ll be covering all the action, right here on The Wrexham Insider.
