Wrexham host Mansfield Town in a major League One fixture on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Dragons have seen their form take a dip in the last few weeks but likely fancy their chances against Mansfield Town.

Wrexham are winless in their last three outings, including crashing out of the FA Cup at the hands of League Two outfit Harrogate Town last weekend.

However, the Mansfield clash is set to take place at the Racecourse Ground, where the Welsh side are unbeaten in 2024/25 so far.

It will still be a tough game, however, with the Stags once again battling Wrexham in the promotion race.

Phil Parkinson and his players sit third in League One right now but they will slip below fourth-place Mansfield, who already have a game in hand, if they lose this weekend.

Like Wrexham, Mansfield won promotion in 2023/24 and are now among the contenders to book a place in the Championship next season.

Wrexham vs Mansfield Town head-to-head record

The two sides have faced off a total of 79 times throughout their history.

Mansfield just just about have the edge in the fixture, picking up 31 victories compared to Wrexham’s 27, with the remaining 21 games ending in draws.

However, the two sides have only faced off three times since 2008 and it is Parkinson who has come out on top on nearly every occasion.

Wrexham played Mansfield three times last season, with two games ending in a victory for the Hollywood-owned club and one a 0-0 draw.

Phil Parkinson knows how to stop Mansfield Town ace Louis Reed

The latest meeting between the pair came on March 29th, 2024, and saw Wrexham come away with a 2-0 win.

Paul Mullin scored a brace and when speaking after the game, Parkinson explained how Wrexham neturalised Louis Reed.

He said: “We worked in the week on blocking the ball into little Louis Reed cause he’s a good footballer and we restricted the service into him.

“A lot of their attacks start off like that and I was so pleased with that work because that means as much as the goals”

Reed remains a key player for Mansfield Town, putting in some superb displays and captaining them on numerous occasions this term.

But fans will be pleased to remember that their side already know how to limit the impact of the 27-year-old.
