Record goalscorer Paul Mullin has had a tough start to the 2024/25 campaign with Wrexham.
Paul Mullin has been a key cog in the Wrexham promotion machine since he signed on a free transfer from Cambridge United in 2022.
His debut campaign for the club saw the now 30-year-old net 26 times in 38 National League games as the Red Dragons lost out on promotion via the play-offs.
Mullin then scored a staggering 38 times in 46 league matches the following campaign as Wrexham won promotion back into the EFL for the first time in 15 years.
His superb goalscoring form continued into 2023/24, with the Liverpool-born star scoring 24 and assisting eight en route to yet another promotion.
After reaching League One, however, it appears Mullin may have found his ceiling, with the striker coming under fire of late.

Phil Parkinson sent Paul Mullin transfer message amid Wrexham struggles
Wrexham fans hit out at Mullin vs Harrogate Town on Sunday, with the centre-forward missing a plethora of chances as his side crashed out of the competition in the first round.
This was not the first time the former Cambridge man has been off his game so far this term, scoring just once in 11 League One appearances.
Now, speaking to Football League World, former player turned pundit, Carton Palmer, has urged Wrexham to ‘look past’ Mullin and sign a replacement in the January transfer window.
He said: “I think they’ll probably have to look past Paul Mullin with all due respect. Looking at his history, he’s not prolific in League One. If they want someone who’s prolific they would have to go out and get somebody who scores goals in League One and I think they will in January.
“It’s very, very tight in those play-off spots, Bolton Wanderers 23 points, Lincoln City 24, Mansfield Town 24, Wrexham 25. They will need somebody who can score goals, but given two successive promotions, they’re going along great at the moment. It is a worry that Paul Mullin does not score goals at League One level.”

Wrexham may struggle to replace Paul Mullin
While a move for a new striker in the January transfer window could help Wrexham’s forward line, Phil Parkinson has little cover for Mullin until then.
Jack Marriott is the natural replacement for the forward but he is currently in the midst of a long-term injury that will keep him out until next year.
The Red Dragons do have three more strikers at their disposal to partner Ollie Palmer but all of them, at least on paper, are better suited to covering for Palmer rather than playing alongside him.
But if Mullin’s form continues to dip, the Wrexham manager may be forced to experiment with his forward line in the near future.
