Wrexham returned to League One action on March 29th with a meeting against Exeter City.
The Red Dragons went into the game on the back of an impressive run of recent form.
Wrexham beat Stockport County 1-0 last time out, following on from a monumental victory over automatic-promotion rivals, Wycombe Wanderers.
It meant the Red Dragons went into the latest round of games sat second in League One, three points clear of Wycombe but having played a game more.
As a result, they couldn’t afford to drop any points on Saturday, and when all was said and done, Wrexham beat Exeter City 2-0.
Here are five things we learned from the meeting at St James Park.

Paul Mullin absence continues to confuse fans
At this point, you would assume that supporters have accepted that Paul Mullin is no longer a key player.
However, when the team news came out at 2pm, Wrexham fans were asking about Mullin yet again.
He’s been left out for 10 matches in a row now, and it remains to be seen if he will play again this term.
The number nine did score for the club’s reserves earlier this week but that apparently wasn’t enough to warrant a place in the squad versus Exeter.
Ryan Longman over Ryan Barnett
Ryan Longman has impressed since his January arrival in Wales from Championship outfit Hull City.
And he was once again in from the off against Exeter over the weekend, with Ryan Barnett starting on the bench.
Barnett did have an injury problem recently but even after returning against Stockport, he did not regain his place in the eleven this weekend, perhaps suggesting Longman is the new preferred right-wing-back.
Ollie Rathbone is signing of the season
Wrexham took the lead with 23 minutes on the clock, and it was once again Ollie Rathbone who got himself on the score sheet.
The midfielder picked up the ball on the edge of the box and let fly, seeing his effort take a deflection before going in.
Rathbone’s goals this season have been so crucial, especially with Wrexham’s strikers not scoring much.
He continues to shine during an important period for the club, and it’s clear he has been the best of all the Reds’ signings made in 2024/25.

Eoghan O’Connell is a beast
With Wrexham not scoring anywhere near as many goals as their rivals, it has been down to the club’s defenders to keep as many clean sheets as possible.
While he did drop in form earlier this season, Eoghan O’Connell has seriously stepped up for the Hollywood-owned club in the last few weeks.
Parkinson praised O’Connell for his leadership and how he helps out the much younger Lewis Brunt and Max Cleworth earlier this week.
And he was once again superb against Exeter, making some key tackles and leading by example.
Jay Rodriguez is here to say
The Red Dragons’ second of the day came from a surprising name – Jay Rodriguez.
Wrexham fans have criticised Rodriguez since his arrival after he failed to score once in 10 matches.
However, now that he’s got two in two, it seems inevitable he will keep his place for the rest of the campaign, to the detriment of Mullin and Ollie Palmer.
