Wrexham will face Leicester City for the first time in 43 years when they square off on Tuesday night in the Championship.

The Red Dragons will be looking to build off a fine week under Phil Parkinson as they secured two wins and a draw in their three fixtures.

Their most recent result against Derby County was slightly disappointing, as a worrying stat has emerged for Wrexham; however, the Welsh side will still look at their unbeaten run and take confidence from it ahead of their clashes with the Foxes.

Should they continue their fine recent form against Marti Cifuentes’ side, then there is potential for Wrexham to make some history in the second tier.

Wrexham could win three consecutive away games in the second tier for the first time ever

The Red Dragons made history when they defeated Norwich City at Carrow Road, as it was the third time ever Wrexham won consecutive away games in the second tier.

Now, less than two weeks on, Phil Parkinson has the opportunity to make unique history for Wrexham, as he can guide Wrexham to winning three consecutive away games in the second tier for the first time ever.

It will not be easy for the Welsh side, as they must travel to Leicester, who have made a fine start to the Championship this season, as they occupy fifth in the division after seven games.

Marti Cifuentes believes Leicester’s squad depth is key to their success and thinks this could be a crucial factor when Wrexham travel to the King Power Stadium.

Phil Parkinson may rotate his squad slightly for Leicester City

The Wrexham manager may be forced to rotate his squad slightly due to the short turnaround between their draw with Derby and their match against Leicester, with only three days between the two matches.

Parkinson addressed the injuries in the squad, particularly focusing on the worrying knocks that Issa Kabore and Kieffer Moore received against the Rams, resulting in the pair being withdrawn.

However, while injuries will play a part in his selection decisions, there may be the factor of fatigue being decisive too, as a few changes are made to freshen up the team to attempt to get a result against Marti Cifuentes’ side.

While the shape of the team is expected to remain the same due to the success of the side in this formation, the only changes will be personnel.
