Wrexham fans in complete agreement about Sebastian Revan vs Reading, it’s baffling what happened

Wrexham fans made their opinions known during and after their side’s League One fixture with Reading on Tuesday evening.

Wrexham beat Reading 3-0 in the reverse fixture earlier this season, but The Royals have improved a great deal since then.

They have moved firmly into the play-off picture, sitting eighth in the League One table prior to kick-off.

Meanwhile, Wrexham had an unwanted record versus Reading prior to this week, which had stood for 31 consecutive seasons.

However, Phil Parkinson’s men have turned a corner in recent weeks when playing away from the Racecourse Ground and were looking to secure their fifth-straight victory on the road when they travelled to the Madejski Stadium.

Wrexham fans hit out at Sebastian Revan vs Reading

It was a really uninspiring first 45 minutes from Wrexham for the most part, having just a 70 percent passing accuracy and creating little of note.

Sam Smith and Ryan Barnett were the only real bright sparks, while Sebastian Revan struggled at left-wing-back.

The defender was under a lot of pressure from the get-go and didn’t deal with it well, giving the ball away numerous times and, in turn, earning the ire of Wrexham fans on social media.

One fan wrote: “Revan really looks out of sorts today, decision making is really hesitant.”

A second Wrexham fan simply claimed: “Revan is a liability tonight.”

“We play like watching paint dry, one dimensional, wingbacks especially Revan have been so poor and we on the back foot. Feel sorry for the strikers again, feeding on scraps,” another wrote.

A fourth added: “Dare I say it, lee on for Revan, put McClean back on the left. Not working.”

And a fifth stated: “Need to get Revan off at half-time, he’s having an absolute howler.”

A sixth Red Dragons supporter wrote: “Revan is having a mare so far can’t complete a pass,” while another tweeted: “Revan is shocking,” and an eighth wrote: “Seb looking poor going forward…”

Sebastian Revan Wrexham form has been brilliant

His showing against Reading in midweek is sure to have left the Wrexham fanbase pretty perplexed.

The left-back had started the Welsh outfit’s previous four league games and impressed in all of them.

It appeared Revan turned a corner at Wrexham following a very poor first half of the season on the back of his switch from Aston Villa in the summer.

But his showing on March 11th suggests the 21-year-old may have reverted to type, which is not what fans will want to see at such a crucial point in the season.
