Wrexham were back in League One action on Tuesday evening, facing off with Huddersfield Town.

The Red Dragons were aiming to match a historic record when they welcomed Huddersfield Town to the Racecourse Ground in midweek.

Wrexham had won their last nine home games and were aiming to pick up 10+ victories on home soil in a row for the first time since 1933.

Standing in their way was a Huddersfield Town side who, like the Welsh outfit, have League One promotion aspirations this season.

The Terries began the midweek action sat sixth in the division while Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham were second, aiming to close the gap on League One leaders Birmingham City.

Wrexham dominated the first half and threatened from the flanks but they could not find an opener, with Huddersfield time-wasting at every available opportunity.

It was a similar story in the second half but Parkinson’s men failed to create little of note and were forced to settle for a point.

Here’s how the players rated-

Arthur Okonkwo – 6

Had very little to do for much of the 90 minutes, especially in the first 45. But he commanded his box well and was composed with the ball.

Ryan Barnett – 8

Another superb showing from the wing-back who was one of Wrexham’s biggest attacking threats with his marauding runs forward and pinpoint deliveries into the opposition box.

Eoghan O’Connell – 7

Was largely solid for much of the game but, in truth, he had a quiet game due to Huddersfield being more than happy to sit deep and try and play for the point.

Dan Scarr – 7

Stellar in the middle of the back three yet again, dealing with long balls well and putting his body on the line to win the majority of his duels.

Thomas O’Connor – 7

Unassuming and under-the-radar performance but largely didn’t put a foot wrong for much of the game, which is exactly what Parkinson will want from his centre-backs.

James McClean – 7

His whipped crosses caused Huddersfield Town problems all evening, finding Mullin and his opposition number Barrnett several times.

Andy Cannon – 6.5

Performed his role fairly well, acting as a box-to-box option whose primary focus was setting off Barnett on his surging runs down the right flank.

George Dobson – 7

Linked play well with his quick and precise passing, and was also astute defensively, helping quash any potential Huddersifled attacks through the middle.

Elliot Lee – 5

A very quiet showing from the attacking midfielder who Parkinson will want to see more from going forward after he failed to create little of note on Tuesday.

Paul Mullin – 6

Had a quiet first half, nearly getting in on goal if not for a big tackle from a Huddersfield defender.

Ollie Palmer – 6

Didn’t offer too much of a goal threat but used his physical advantage to dominate in the air and move on several Wrexham attacks.
