Wrexham are now in danger of missing out on promotion unless Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds overrule one Phil Parkinson decision.
The Red Dragons continued their fine start to the 2024/25 campaign on Saturday, seeing off Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.
Wrexham fans sent a message to Paul Mullin after he scored 16 seconds into the match to hand the Welsh outfit a 1-0 win.
That victory kept Phil Parkinson’s side second in League One and two points adrift of first-place Birmingham City, who still have a game in hand.
It was not all positive for the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds-owned club last week, however, with a big blow coming on the Jack Marriott front.
Marriott has excelled in the early stages of the current campaign, netting five times in League One.
However, Parkinson provided an injury update on Marriott after Rotherham, confirming that the forward is now facing around four months on the sidelines.

Phil Parkinson outlines Wrexham transfer stance after Jack Marriott injury
With Marriott now out for the remainder of the calendar year, Wrexham are lacking depth in the striker department.
No players can be loaned or signed on permanent deals until the January transfer window but the free agent market, of course, remains a potential option.
However, despite losing Marriott right as we head toward a hectic fixture period, Parkinson claimed Wrexham will not sign a free agent.
He said: “We have got an outstanding player in Mulls whose performance was brilliant and I thought Ollie was tremendous.
“Ollie worked tirelessly for the team and kept the ball at the top of the pitch which is so important. We have got options and if someone gets injured, another player gets the opportunity to step-up.”

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds must now overrule Phil Parkinson Wrexham call
Parkinson seems adamant Wrexham will not bring in a free agent to replace Marriott but that call could come back to cost Wrexham in their promotion push.
Summer addition Modou Faal will now earn more game time and provide cover for Ollie Palmer on one side of Wrexham’s strike force.
However, now Marriott is out, the club have little quality backup for Mullin. And while the latter is, of course, a top player, he simply cannot start every game over the next four months.
37-year-old Steven Fletcher remains an option but Parkinson has been told Flecther is not good enough to start games anymore – a fair assessment given how poor the Scotsman has been in his limited outings this term.
As a result, Wrexham owners McElhenney and Reynolds should now overrule Parkinson and sign a free-agent striker to ensure their side has plenty of depth up front while Marriott is out in order to keep their promotion push alive.
