Wrexham player ratings vs QPR as Ryan Reynolds witnesses poor display, including 4/10 fan favourite

It was yet another home defeat for Wrexham, who suffered a 3-1 loss with Ryan Reynolds in attendance.

Wrexham got off to a difficult start to the contest, with QPR showing plenty of threat on the front foot, and they made it count after going ahead in the 33rd minute.

Defensively, Wrexham showed very little to be admired after the ball came off Conor Coady to give QPR the lead.

Things went from bad to worse for the Red Dragons, who went 2-0 down before the break, with Richard Kone bagging the goal for QPR, having scored a year ago against Phil Parkinson’s side, but for Wycombe Wanderers.

The second half saw Wrexham grow back into the tie, and they managed to make it count in the 67th minute after Kieffer Moore headed home from Lewis O’Brien’s corner.

After the goal, Wrexham continued to put on the pressure but they were hit on the counter-attack by QPR, who made it 3-1.

Following the home defeat, here is how we rated each player…

Arthur Okonkwo

Committed a brilliant save to deny Koki Saito from close range. Should have done far better to clear his lines in the build-up to QPR’s opening goal. Beaten from distance by Richard Kone. Left in two minds ahead of QPR’s third, and arguably should have rushed out faster. 5

Max Cleworth

Rushed out to tackle the QPR man, leaving the defence open for Richard Kone to score QPR’s second. 5

Conor Coady

Partly culpable for QPR’s first goal, turning the ball into his own goal after a mix-up with Arthur Okonkwo. Turned inside-out by Richard Kone for QPR’s second. 4

Callum Doyle

Passive defending before Conor Coady’s own-goal. Somewhat redeemed himself with a block only minutes later to keep the score at 1-0. 5

Ryan Longman

Made a brilliant run in an attempt to get onto Kieffer Moore’s ball at the back-stick, with it only just evading the Wrexham wing-back. 5

James McClean

Easily dispossessed inside the box, leading to QPR notching their first chance of the game. Struggled in the first half after QPR focused their attacks down the right flank. Could have done better with his effort in the second half, only making contact with the ball with his knee. 4

Matty James

Did very little in the first half. 5

Lewis O’Brien

Made a few progressive passes and got stuck into challenges in the centre of the park. Pin-point corner to set up Kieffer Moore’s goal. 6

George Dobson

Kept the ball moving in midfield, helping Phil Parkinson’s side control possession. 6

Ryan Hardie

Came agonisingly close to a leveller, with his half-volley effort going just wide. Did very little else before getting hooked on the 60th minute. 5
